Tottenham Hotspur ace to join Malaga?

According to ESPN Mexico, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani dos Santos will put pen to paper with Malaga shortly.

The 23-year-old Mexican international, who has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane and has made just 17 League appearances since his €6m signing from Barcelona in August 2008, has been given permission to delay joining his country’s Olympic squad while he sorts out his future.

Mexico Coach Luis Fernando Tena has even acknowledged he knows Santos’ intentions but would not reveal where he was going.

“He has told us the team but I am not at liberty to say which one it is, although it will be much better if he is relaxed and has sorted his contract out before he joins up with us ,” revealed Tena.

“I agree he will not be at his best physically but mentally he will be happy knowing where he is going to be playing.”

Dos Santos has recently been linked with Atletico Madrid and Sevilla but the chance to play Champions League football under Manuel Pellegrini is believed to be one of the factors the player considers too good to turn down.
