Modric ‘wants Inter move’

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu and move to Inter, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Milan giants have seen rivals Juventus reinforce their squad with the signing of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and want to make a statement themselves ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

As a result, they see Croatian international Modric, who was one of the stars of the World Cup in Russia, as the stellar arrival the fans at the San Siro would welcome.

The newspaper reports that Modric has already given the go-ahead to a possible transfer while Vanja Bosnic, his wife and agent, is understood to have contacted the Inter directors offering his services.

Madrid, however, are reluctant to let Modric leave, given he has a contract with Los Blancos that runs until 2020, and a move to the Serie A giants could be further complicated by his €10m-a-year salary.

Financial Fair Play is another problem the Italians would have to deal with.
