Madrid want La Real’s Odriozola

Real Sociedad defender Alvaro Odriozola is Real Madrid’s number one transfer target for the summer transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

The 21-year-old has a €40m release clause in his contract at Anoeta after recently signing a new contract until 2022, but this is thought to be viewed as affordable by the European champions.

Zinedine Zidane’s men are thought to be prioritising the right-back position with Dani Carvajal the only established member of the first-team squad in that position, alongside teenager Achraf Hakimi.

A report in Marca now states that Odriozola – who debuted for Spain against Albania earlier this year – is the prime transfer target at the Bernabeu.

The club are keen to sign Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the January transfer window but will raid their Basque rivals in summer to bolster their defence.
