Diego Simeone believes Antoine Griezmann would be a deserving winner of this year's Balon D'Or award.
Speaking ahead of Atletico Madrid's trip to Barcelona on Wednesday evening, Simeone pointed to Griezmann enjoying a fantastic year for both club and country, enough to earn him the individual award.
"We hope that journalists have are a good judge and recognise his achievements," the Argentine stated.
"Antoine has grown so much as a player here since he arrived in terms of his understanding of the game and also physically.
"We hope that he maintains this growth and he is a real example to others."
"He will play (against Barcelona) and will be accompanied by Gamiero, Torres or Correa.
"We have never deserved to win at Camp Nou under my spell, so we hope that changes."
Atletico Madrid have recovered from successive draws against newly promoted Alaves and Leganes to claim league wins over Celta and Sporting Gjion, while Barca will be attempting to avoid a second straight home league defeat.
