Barcelona are sweating over the fitness of Andres Iniesta and Jeremy Mathieu after both players pulled up against Sevilla in Sunday’s Supercopa.
Mathieu was the first to go down as he clutched his right thigh when hitting the ground and requested to be substituted on just 26 minutes, while Iniesta took a blow to his right knee from Mariano only nine minutes later.
Barca’s official website promptly announced Mathieu suffered a hamstring injury and Iniesta a bruised knee, although the duo will undergo more tests on Monday morning to determine the extent of their setbacks.
The defender and midfielder were replaced by debutants Lucas Digne and Denis Suarez en route to a 2-0 victory at the Sanchez Pizjuan.
