Atleti move Torres goalposts?

Atletico Madrid have reportedly changed their contract offer for Fernando Torres as the striker may now be given an initial one-year deal.

According to Marca, the meeting between Miguel Angel Gil, Andrea Berta and Diego Simeone in Buenos Aires earlier in the week saw them revise the terms of Torres’ extension.

Consequently, Torres will be offered a one-year contract with the option for a second year, but the latter will only be activated on the basis that a series of conditions are met.

Another meeting is understood to have been scheduled for next week, when Torres and Atleti will look to reach a final agreement.

The 31-year-old has scored 18 goals in 70 appearances for Los Colchoneros since returning to his boyhood club from Milan on loan in January 2015.
