Iniesta: Spain near-perfect

Andres Iniesta has praised his “near-perfect” Spain teammates for a job well done following Saturday's 2-0 victory over Slovakia in Euro 2016 qualifying.

The midfielder scored La Roja's second goal of the evening to ensure his country moved top of Group C and took control of their fate with only three games remaining.

“We gave a near-perfect performance and the fans enjoyed it,” he told Teledeporte after the game.

“There was a big need to win so we could be in a good position, and we've achieved that objective. Now we'll look forward to our next game.

Jordi Alba, scorer of Spain's first, later emphasised his Barcelona teammate's sentiments.

“We gave a complete performance and are very happy,” he added.

“I'm happy for the goal, but the most important thing is the victory. We wanted to have a good game.”
