Derby County have confirmed that Raul Albentosa is in talks with Malaga over a possible loan switch, just six months since leaving Eibar.
The centre-back signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Rams last January and made eight Championship appearances but has struggled to settle at Pride Park and now looks to be on the verge of returning to Spain with Los Boquerones.
A statement on Derby’s official website read: “Derby County wishes to confirm that defender Raul Albentosa is in talks with Spanish top flight side Malaga CF over a potential loan move.
“The 26-year-old Spaniard joined Derby in January of this year from La Liga outfit Eibar for an undisclosed fee.
“Albentosa is absent from today’s matchday squad for the pre-season friendly at Northampton Town as talks continue between Derby, Malaga and Albentosa.”
