Sevilla have completed the signing of Celta Vigo midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli on a Bosman free transfer.
The Denmark international, 32, was believed to have agreed a pre-contract with the Europa League winners some time ago, but he has now officially put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with the option of a third, at Sanchez Pizjuan.
“It’s a big step for me to get to a big club at my age,” he told reporters while away on international duty.
“If you have the opportunity to play for a team like [Sevilla], it makes you very proud and happy. It must mean that I’ve done well in recent seasons.
“I’ve been very quiet about this because I [signed the contract] two months ago.
“I have spent that time playing football without concentrating on other things.
“Playing in the Champions League is a dream come true. It’s a fantastic bonus, and [to compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid] is a [great] challenge.”
Krohn-Dehli joined Celta on the back of an impressive Euro 2012 campaign from Brondby and went on to make over 100 appearances for the Galicians in La Liga.
