Emery agrees Milan deal?

Reports in Italy claim that Unai Emery has agreed to become Milan’s new Coach as their CEO Adriano Galliani prepares to touch down in Madrid.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with a swoop for Carlo Ancelotti, whose future at Real Madrid remains up in the air, and the official admitted he would be flying into the Spanish capital on Monday without justification.

“I’m travelling to Madrid [on Monday]. Here, there are big clubs with great players,” he told reporters.

“I haven’t said that I’m going to meet [Carlo] Ancelotti, but we’ll see what happens.

“The most important thing is returning our club to past glories.

“Ancelotti is currently the Coach of Madrid, like [Filippo] Inzaghi is Milan’s. The summer’s very long.”

However, it is entirely possible that Galliani could be meeting representatives of the Sevilla boss in Madrid or taking a detour to Andalucia as Mediaset journalist Maurizio Pistocchi explained on Twitter.

“According to the sources who informed me about [Clarence] Seedorf’s arrival at Milan six months in advance and [Roberto] Mancini at Inter, Unai Emery has signed with Milan,” he tweeted.

Sevilla are due to face Dnipro in the Europa League final on May 27 at Warsaw’s National Stadium, in which a victory would result in Champions League football for the side next season.

However, the 43-year-old may be swayed by the task of returning Milan to their previous successes, despite appearing to dismiss the speculation at the weekend.
