Tercera Division side Alcobendas have renamed their stadium in honour of legendary Coach Luis Aragones.
Aragones spent his final years in the Madrid suburb before his eventual death from Leukemia last February, aged 75.
In an emotional tribute on Saturday morning, the Polideportivo Municipal de Alcobendas was officially retitled Estadio Luis Aragones.
"There are many reasons why Alcobendas want to pay this recognition and tribute [to Aragones]," said the town's mayor Ignacio Gonzalez de Vinuesa.
"He was our herald in 2010 and his humane character permeated many young people of this city.
"Moreover, his relationship with the city may have been a factor in [Alcobendas] being declared the European City of Sport 2015."
Aragones, a prolific attacker for Atletico Madrid in the 1960s and 1970s, led the likes of Los Colchoneros and Barcelona to La Liga success in a coaching career which spanned four decades.
However, his most notable achievement came in 2008, when he guided Spain to European Championship glory, and his tiki-taka legacy was evident in La Roja's consequent 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 triumphs.
Alcobendas are currently second in La Tercera, six points behind leaders Rayo Majadahonda with nine matches remaining.
