Resino accepts Granada difficulty

Granada boss Abel Resino says he accepts it will be a tough ask to keep Granada in the top flight this season.

The Andalusians played out a scoreless draw with Eibar on Saturday that left Resino’s team next-to-bottom, when a win would have seen them climb out of the relegation zone.

“We were very anxious in a lot of phases during the game and in the second half there wasn’t much football as it was interruption after interruption,” Resino told reporters.

“I couldn’t have asked more of our youngsters because their priority was to defend, although we couldn’t combine that with our attacking play. We needed a goal, which was the key, but were unable to manage one.

“The situation is very difficult but we must get our heads up. We have to keep working and believing, whilst also keeping cool heads, because that’s the only way to get out of this.

“If we allow things to get out of proportion then things will only get worse,” he warned.
