Unai Emery has warned his players about the danger of underestimating opponents Granada in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey clash.
The Sevilla boss saw his side take a comfortable 2-0 lead in last week’s first leg at Los Carmenes, only for Lass Bangoura to pull a goal back with the last kick of the game to give his side hope for the return at the Sanchez Pizjuan.
Granada currently sit bottom of La Liga after a disastrous run of form following a bright start to the season, and Emery says is aware they are a team that will be hurting right now.
“The late goal they scored will demand a higher level of concentration from us,” claimed Emery to assembled reporters.
“They are a wounded team and that makes them dangerous. Also, bear in mind that [Joaquin] Caparros is in charge and he always wants his teams to play well, so we must be even more alert.”
The former Almeria and Valencia boss says a quarter-final clash with Espanyol is something he is not even thinking about at the moment.
“I won’t be analysing any other game before this one is over. I won’t be looking at anything before we’ve done what we have to do,” he declared.
