Suarez: No lost sleep over Ballon d’Or

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez says he is not losing any sleep over his surprising omission from the list of candidates for the Ballon d’Or.

The Uruguayan bagged 31 League goals in the 2013-14 season with Liverpool and was joint-top goalscorer in Europe alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, yet it was not enough for him to be named on the 23-man shortlist for the award.

“I understand that the Ballon d’Or is given to a player for his performances on the pitch and the discipline he shows,” Suarez told Fox Sports.

“But what’s not clear is if it’s from July to June or January to December. If it’s January to December then okay, but if they do it for the whole season then I don’t understand it.

“It has drawn my attention but I’m not losing any sleep over it,” he admitted.
