Ancelotti to decide on Bale tomorrow

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Gareth Bale is fit to return for Real Madrid and could play against Liverpool but a decision hasn’t yet been made.

Bale has missed Madrid’s last five games with a buttock injury but resumed training on Sunday and is in contention to play the Reds in the Champions League.

Ancelotti confirmed at a pre-match Press conference that Madrid’s only concern is over Dani Carvajal, who injured his thigh in the win over Granada.

“Bale is fine. Fabio Coentrao is also available, so too are Carvajal, Illarra and Khedira,” he revealed, AS reports.

“Bale is good. The question is whether or not to start him or to rest the players who have played a lot in previous games. I’ll decide tomorrow.

“We plan to make sure the team is fine. We didn’t have much time in pre-season and players get fit by playing matches.

“We want to be performing well by March and April. We need to rotate the side to fix a few things.

“Rotations are important. Last year the team was physically good until the end.

“Carvajal has a minor hamstring injury. It’s not a serious problem and he’ll be back in a week. Coentrao is also recovering but we don’t know when Jese will return.”
