‘Celta would have taken a draw’

Celta Vigo Coach Eduardo Berizzo has admitted he would have settled for a point from the visit to Elche before Nolito’s late winner.

Nolito netted in the 90th minute to give the points to the visitors and speaking after the match, Berizzo lamented the standard of play.

“I must be honest and say a draw would have let us satisfied,” AS reports the Argentine telling reporters.

“There was little football played and a lot of director football. But we didn’t suffer defensively.

“A draw would have been ok but a win is much better. Maybe we had more chances than they did but not enough to decide the match.

“This is a difficult place to play and they can make their opponents suffer.

“If their shot that hit the post had gone in we would have been left with a bad feeling. Victory strengthens us but we have to be realistic and know we have to work hard in every game.”
