Leon meets with players’ union

Pedro Leon has today met with the AFE, the Spanish players’ union, over his situation with Getafe and the LFP.

Getafe have been unable to register the winger in their League squad as to do so would take the club past the wage limit imposed by the League.

AS report Getafe rejected offers from Sevilla and Hannover this summer for the player in the belief that more lucrative bids would be forthcoming.

When they weren’t, the club were stuck with their highest-paid player, who wanted to leave and is now unable to play for his club.

Getafe tried to reduce Leon’s wages but the player wasn’t interested in taking a pay cut, but did train as normal today.

He then met with the AFE, who are advising Leon on the situation.
