Khedira wants Madrid stay

Sami Khedira wants to remain at Real Madrid amid reported interest from Manchester United, and Madrid want the Germany international to stay too.

Marca reports that Coach Carlo Ancelotti is content with his midfield options, although if Angel Di Maria leaves, as has been reported is possible, the club will go into the market.

Toni Kroos, Khedira’s Germany colleague, is considered by Marca to already be a Madrid player, while the futures of Asier Illarramendi and Casemiro are in doubt.

Illarra’s future depends on Ancelotti’s wishes, it’s claimed, while Casemiro is close to leaving Santiago Bernabeu.

As for Khedira, it would take a huge offer from United – in the region of €40m – to convince Madrid to sell up. If that offer came then Madrid would sign a replacement for a similar fee.

But Khedira wants to stay and there are talks over a new contract, with Khedira’s deal to end next summer. If a renewed deal is agreed then there will be no chance of Khedira leaving.

Arsenal are also monitoring the situation and could use the conduit established in the signing of Mesut Ozil last year as a way to engineer a move.
