Del Bosque has no Xavi worries

Spanish national team boss Vicente del Bosque has backed Xavi to star at next summer’s World Cup.

La Roja were drawn against Chile, Holland and Australia in Friday’s group stage draw, and the Coach has claimed that the Barcelona veteran can guide his team to another World Cup triumph, despite a patchy start to the season with the Blaugrana.

“This is just a brief spell and you don't need to read anything else into it,” he told Marca.

“We need to remain cautious. There's no reason to be pessimistic. As a player, Xavi is in great physical shape and there's no reason why he should be experiencing problems.

“We are not concerned.

“We have confidence in him, and I honestly don't think something like that can happen.”
