Carles Puyol is reportedly targeting a return to action for Barcelona in the first fixture back after the international break.
The 35-year-old hasn’t played since undergoing knee surgery in March, with his comeback further extended over the summer for a second procedure to remove a cyst on the joint.
Having trained with his teammates in recent days and taken part in training ground matches, the defender is seen as close to completing his recovery.
Reports today are that Puyol is now entering a key week for his conditioning, with a return against Osasuna in Week 9 seen as identified.
AS note that this Saturday evening fixture on October 19 would mark 222 days since his last appearance for La Blaugrana.
