Ancelotti promises Madrid style

Carlo Ancelotti says he is at ‘the most prestigious club in the world’ in Real Madrid and that he is obliged to have them win playing spectacular football.

The Italian was yesterday confirmed as Los Blancos' new Coach for the next three years having eventually being released by Paris Saint-Germain following a lengthy stand-off.

At today’s presentation to the media at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 54-year-old reflected on the task at hand.

“I want to thank PSG for the experience I had in France,” Ancelotti began in loose Spanish to reporters.

“There is a lot of emotion, I am very happy to be here.

“Now I am at Madrid, the most prestigious club in the world that has to win playing a spectacular style of football, because that is the history and tradition of the club.

“And we will work to play football that makes the fans happy. The work will not be easy, but it is never easy.”

Zinedine Zidane has shown Ancelotti around the facilities at Madrid today.

“I have been to Valdebebas training centre and it is great. All that we need is there. I think the training will be very good.

“I have the support of the club, the President and the fans, so I believe that this season will be a happy season for Real Madrid.”

President Florentino Perez was also at the presentation and introduced the Italian tactician.

“We all define him as a truly wise in football, a winner and an excellent human being.

“In all the leagues he has coached in he has been chosen as the best. He’s used to pressure, but as you know, that will bear no resemblance to what awaits at this legendary club.

“Years ago I told you, Carlo, that one day you would be my Coach. That day has come.

“Millions of fans around the world hope for the best from you. Welcome to your stadium.”

On from this ceremony, Ancelotti will soon take questions from the assembled media.
