Cesc hits back: ‘I’m not stupid!’

Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas has again hit back at critics of his recent form with La Blaugrana, telling people he is ‘not stupid’.

The former Arsenal man, who returned to the Camp Nou last summer after beginning his career with the club as a youngster, had previously declared that the criticism was exaggerated.

However, in an interview with Informativos Telecinco, the 25-year-old sent out a further message to his detractors.

”It appears that now everybody wants to tell me that I’m under pressure.

“I already knew where I was coming to, I’m not stupid! I’m competing with Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, the best players in the world,” said Fabregas.

The Catalan-born player also said his career so far had not been easy.

“I’ve had good and bad times, but I’ve always had to compete.

”What I have always tried to do in football, and what I’ve done, is to dig deep and play to enjoy it like I know how with what is inside me.”
