Real Betis consider themselves to be a green club in more ways than one, and their latest initiative certainly backs this up. On Wednesday, they announced the release of a new kit, which has been called “Forever Green”.
Betis are using the kit to highlight the dangerous effects of climate change, especially in regards to droughts. They are encouraging their supporters to “use water responsibility”, as they aim to raise awareness to the problem.
“The kit aims to raise awareness about responsible use of water, reflecting the impact that climate change is causing in our fields, punished by the worst drought that can be remembered.”

Real Betis defender Hector Bellerin, who has spoken out on the effects of climate change in the past, was used to model the kit. At this stage, it’s not known whether it will be used in one of Los Verdiblancos’ remaining four matches in the current season.
If Betis goes completely woke with this man-made climate change nonsense, they will lose my support. Bellerin needs to work on his game more than his political ambitions. I flushed American basketball (NBA) and football (NFL) during all the :kneeling” non-sense by the players and coaches. Totally absurb.
Saw this kit yesterday in the win against Almeria. The short and socks, in particular, are the ugliest I have ever seen. Tradition should be the path forward along with zero public announcements in politics. Betis has a world-wide fan base which does not need all these new interventions. Tradition!
