Galvez urges right Rayo attitude

Alejandro Galvez has urged his Rayo Vallecano teammates to show the right attitude in this weekend’s game with Espanyol.

Although he has started just one game since his summer signing from Sporting Gijon, Galvez [pictured, right] says the team’s desire and commitment against the Catalans must remain the same as it is when facing Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“It is very important to win because we are doing a good job and must take all three points off a team that is at the wrong end of the table. The attitude has got to be the same as if we were facing either of the big two.”

“We know that in the opening 20 or 30 minutes Espanyol will come at us but we must play the same way we normally do,” the central defender told a Press conference.

On a personal level, the 23-year-old believes he has been doing well in training and is just waiting for another opportunity to partner Jordi Amat in the middle of Paco Jemez’s defence.

“The boss knows how I’ve been working and if I get the chance I’ll be ready, but I always want to play as many minutes as I can.

“I played in the first match against Granada and then I was on the bench, although I know that any decision the boss takes is for the good of the team,” he concluded.
