Espanyol are hot on the trail of Colombian striker Carlos Bacca according to Tutto Mercato.
The Catalans have made a disastrous start to the season and boss Mauricio Pochettino is already looking to strengthen his attacking options in the winter transfer market.
Consequently, he has been checking out Bacca [pictured, left], who signed for the Belgian outfit for €12.5m just last January but has already responded with nine goals from 16 appearances in the Jupiter Pro League.
Bacca has a contract with Bruges until June 2015 and it is understood he could now command a fee in excess of €4m, although this may rise if he is included in Jose Pekerman’s Colombia squad for the next round of World Cup qualifiers.
The 26-year-old has so far appeared just once for his country and is believed to look favourably on a move to La Liga, although he has recently insisted he feels at home in Bruges.
