Joao Felix must 'feel emotion' of Atletico Madrid - Simeone

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has hinted star forward Joao Felix needs to ‘experience the club with heart and emotion’.

The Portugal international has gone 659 minutes without scoring nor providing an assist in La Liga following his club record €126m switch from Benfica this summer.

The struggles of Felix are coupled with an injury to striker Diego Costa - exacerbating the summer arrival’s patchy form, while Atleti have struggled in front of goal generally this season.

Joao Felix wants to play with Cristiano Ronaldo at club level

Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is hopeful he will play with Cristiano Ronaldo at the same club one day.

The two are international teammates with Portugal but Ronaldo - who turns 35 in January - is at the different end of the scale in terms of his career.

Felix joined Atleti in a club record €126m deal from Benfica this summer and has scored four goals in 17 appearances for the side to date this campaign.

Atletico Madrid: Joao Felix wins 2019 Golden Boy award

Atletico Madrid starlet Joao Felix has won the Golden Boy award for 2019, the prize awarded by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

The trophy is awarded to the best Under-21 player of the year who plays in a European league and Atleti’s Felix - a club record €126m arrival from Benfica this summer - had been the favourite to land the award.

The Portugal international was chosen by a panel composed of 40 journalists from the main Italian and international media.

Atletico Madrid’s attacking crisis has deepened with fears that forward Joao Felix will miss three weeks with an ankle injury.

A club statement has confirmed that the star forward is set to miss between two and three weeks with a Grade II ankle sprain in what represents a fresh blow to Atleti.

Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury dirong the 1-1 draw at home to Valencia.

The Portuguese international was withdrawn with 10 minutes to go at the Wanda Metropolitano, and a club statement confirmed he is set to miss the next two to three weeks with a Grade II ankle sprain.

He was taken to hospital for tests following after being substituted and will now miss Atleti's next run of games in both La Liga and Champions League action.
