Guaita: Palace move a dream

New Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has described his move to England from Getafe as ‘a dream come true’.

The 31-year-old joined the Eagles on a three-year deal this month after his contract at Los Azulones expired.

The Spaniard made over 100 appearances for Valencia before joining Getafe in 2014, keeping 12 clean sheets last season as the side finished eighth in their first season back in La Liga.

Palace confirm Guaita signing

Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Vicente Guaita following the expiration of his contract at Getafe.

The 31-year-old becomes Palace’s first signing of the summer and joins on a three-year deal despite reported late interest from Fiorentina.

The Spaniard made over 100 appearances for Valencia before joining Los Azulones in 2014, keeping 12 clean sheets last season as the side finished eighth in their first season back in La Liga.

Fiorentina want Getafe's Guaita

The agent of out-of-contract Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has confirmed Italian club Fiorentina are interested in signing his client.

Agent Javier Ruiz admits La Viola would be a ‘great destination’ for the 31-year-old, who is out-of-contract at the Coliseum at the end of the month.

Crystal Palace have been heavily linked with a move for the Spaniard who made over 100 appearances for Valencia before joining Los Azulones in 2014, keeping 12 clean sheets last season as the side finished eighth in their first season back in La Liga.

Guaita set for Palace move

Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita will join Crystal Palace after reaching an agreement with his current club overa deal, say reports.

The Premier League side had been offering €4m but the shot-stopper’s release clause at the Madrid-based club stands at €8m, and Cadena Cope now report the player has reached a private agreement with the club to settle the remaining demand.

The 30-year-old has been out of the Madrid-based club’s side in recent weeks due to being unsettled by a previous failure by the parties involved to conclude a deal.

Guaita passes Palace medical

Crystal Palace have triggered the €8m release clause of Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, who now looks set to join the club this week.

The 30-year-old has been out of the Madrid-based club’s side in recent weeks due to being unsettled by a previous failure by the parties involved to conclude a deal.

Marca report he has already undergone his medical at Selhurst Park and that a deal is expected to be confirmed imminently.

Getafe's Guaita to Watford

Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita is wanted by English Premier League club Watford who could conclude a cut-price deal this month, say reports.

The 30-year-old is out of contract at the Coliseum at the end of the current season and despite having a release clause of €8m (£7m) the Madrid-based club could sell for much lower.

El Desmarque cites a report in The Independent which states the former Valencia shot-stopper is prepared to leave Spain, with Turkish champions Besiktas also monitoring the situation.
