‘Ivi’ joins Valladolid on loan

Real Valladolid have announced that Ivan Lopez or ‘Ivi’ will be joining the club on a season-long loan from Levante.

The former Getafe striker only arrived at the Ciutat de Valencia last summer from Sevilla B, having agreed to a four-year contract for a reported fee of €1.5m.

However, Marca states that the 24-year-old does not enter into the plans of Levante boss Paco Lopez and has decided to try his luck with recently-promoted Valladolid, where he is hoping to get more regular first-team football.

Ivan Lopez out for four weeks

Levante full-back Ivan Lopez has been ruled out for up to four weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury against Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old was withdrawn in the 20th minute of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu, and was replaced by Pedro Lopez.

The newly promoted club confirmed the injury on Monday after medical tests were carried out on the defender.

Lopez had started all three of the Valencia-based clubs league fixtures this campaign despite only being named in the starting XI 18 times across the previous two seasons.
