Madrid/Barca battle for Mbappe

Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to do battle for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe as the transfer window intensifies following Neymar’s transfer, say reports.

Friday’s front pages of Marca, Diario AS and El Mundo Deportivo all cover the 18-year-old striker; Marca believe Madrid will sign him if they sell Gareth Bale while AS report the striker has already said ‘yes’ on a move to the Bernabeu.

Mbappe requests transfer

Kylian Mbappe has told Monaco he wants to leave the club amid transfer speculation linking him with a move away, say reports.

According to L’Equipe, the 18-year-old striking sensation has informed the French champions of his desire to leave the club following reports of interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

Reports in Marca last month suggested Madrid had agreed a €180m fee for the teenager but this now appears to have been a little premature with no firm decision made over his future.

Barca on transfer 'offensive'

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are set to go on a transfer 'offensive,' with Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho the prime target.

The Blaugrana have enjoyed a successful pre-season under new Coach Ernesto Valverde and ended their tour of the United States with a 3-2 win over arch rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.

Now, they are set to turn their attention to new signings as they seek to wrestle back both the domestic and Champions League crowns from the Bernabeu.

Ramos: Madrid would welcome Mbappe

Sergio Ramos says Real Madrid would “welcome” Kylian Mbappe but insists discussing the Monaco starlet’s arrival is “a waste of time”.

Madrid have long been considered the favourites to sign Mbappe, who would command a fee in the region of €180m, and Ramos admitted the forward was “a great player” without going into too much detail.

Monaco confirm 'very big' Mbappe offers

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has confirmed the club has received ‘very big enquiries’ for Kylian Mbappe but have not agreed any deal.

Reports in Marca on Tuesday stated Madrid had agreed a world-record €180m deal for the in-demand 18-year-old striker but the French champions have denied these reports.

"I have read a few articles in the press," Vasilyev is quoted by ESPN as telling RMC Sport.

"Today, we don't have an agreement with Real Madrid, nor with any other club.

City to pip Madrid to Mbappe?

Manchester City have reportedly lodged a world record transfer bid for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe after reports Real Madrid had agree a deal for the striker.

Reports in Marca on Tuesday stated Madrid have agreed a €180m deal with the French champions for the highly-prized 18-year-old striker.

However, a number of reports from across the British media are now stating Pep Guardiola’s side – who have already equalled the record spend by one club in a transfer window – have now entered the fray.

Monaco deny Mbappe sale reports?

Monaco are denying a deal has been reached with Real Madrid for the transfer of star teenage striker Kylian Mbappe, claim reports.

French-based Nice-Matin and Sky Sports  have both reported they have contacted the French champions who denied any deal had been agreed.

A report in Marca on Tuesday stated Los Blancos had agreed a world record fee of €180m with the Ligue 1 club for the 18-year-old’s transfer.

“Contacted by us, the club (Monaco) strongly denied this agreement,” posted Nice-Matin on Twitter.

Madrid agree €180m Mbappe deal - report

Real Madrid have agreed a world record fee of €180m with Monaco for the transfer of highly-rated striker Kylian Mbappe, say reports in Spain.

According to Marca, the French champions will receive €160m up front with a further €20m in add-ons in a deal which dwarfs the fee Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba last year.

Mbappe drops Madrid hint

Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe has hinted at a possible move to Real Madrid by suggesting “I don’t know if I’m going to stay.”

Madrid have long been considered the likeliest destination for Mbappe if he leaves Monaco, and the France attacker has now opened the door to Los Blancos.

“I don’t know if I’m going to stay,” he told AS from the principality outfit’s preseason training camp on Friday.
