"That's why Madrid are champions..."

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe believes Real Madrid showed ‘the difference between great players and champions’ in the Champions League.

The teenage Frenchman played both legs as the Parisians crashed to a 5-2 aggregate defeated against the back-to-back competition holders in the last 16.

“We worked very hard to get our mentally right ahead of the game with Madrid,” Mbappe is quoted as saying by Marca this weekend.

Mbappe rested for Madrid - report

Kylian Mbappe will not take part in Paris Saint-Germain’s weekend clash with Troyes following a foot injury concern, say reports.

The teenager was withdrawn with an unspecified foot injury and replaced by Javier Pastore during Wednesday’s Coupe de France semi-final win over Marseille.

A report in L’Equipe now states the former Monaco striker will not be risked in Ligue 1 this weekend to ensure he is fully fit to take on Madrid on Tuesday.

Mbappe suffers injury scare

Paris Saint-Germain’s injury worries have increased as Kylian Mbappe was taken off at half-time during Wednesday’s match with Marseille.

It was the second clash between the two French giants in the space of four days, with Neymar sustaining an ankle injury in Sunday’s Ligue 1 clash which rules him out of the club’s second leg against Real Madrid.

Mbappe was withdrawn with an unspecified foot injury and replaced by Javier Pastore during Wednesday’s Coupe de France semi-final.

Mbappe: Ronaldo my childhood idol

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has described Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo as his ‘childhood idol’.

The teenage striker will go up against the Spanish and European champions in the next round of the Champions League in February, and he took time to express his previous admiration for the Portuguese.

“Yes it’s true, Cristiano was my childhood idol,” Mbappe told an interview with Marca.

Mbappe: I spoke to Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has admitted he held talks with Real Madrid over a transfer but ‘that is now in the past’.

The French forward, who celebrated his 19th birthday last week, had been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu over summer before eventually joining the Parisians.

PSG are reported to have signed a loan deal with Monaco with an agreed future fee of €170m for the highly-rated striker, who has scored 12 goals this campaign.

Mbappe: PSG can defeat Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe believes his side can end Real Madrid’s dominance of European football.

The French international, who was reportedly a summer transfer target for Los Blancos, has got off to a fast start with the Parisians, netting 11 goals in his opening 18 starts for the club.

“Of course we are able to defeat Real Madrid,” Mbappe told Telefoot, in quotes carried by the Spanish press.

Diego Maradona claims Real Madrid should just “give Gareth Bale away” and reveals “I told Florentino Perez to sign Kylian Mbappe.”

In the second and final part of his interview with AS, Maradona also defended Karim Benzema’s role in Madrid’s attack and explained why he was unimpressed by Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Griezmann drops PSG hint

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has admitted that he would like to play alongside Paris Saint-Germain pair Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Appearing as a guest on French programme Telefoot, Griezmann answered ‘yes’ when asked whether being a teammate to Neymar and Mbappe would interest him.

The attacker also gave the same response to a question about possibly signing for Olympique Marseille, PSG’s rivals in Ligue 1.

Barca had Mbappe agremeent - report

Barcelona reached a deadline day agreement to sign Kylian Mbappe before his move to Paris Saint-Germain was processed, say reports.

The teenage forward joined the Parisians from French champions Monaco at the end of the summer transfer window but L’Equipe report a deal was not always likely due to PSG’s financial situation.

The move was processed after Monaco were persuaded to sanction a season-long loan deal with a reported €170m permanent deal to be concluded next summer.

Agent: Mbappe only wanted Barca

Kylian Mbappe’s agent has claimed the striker ‘only wanted’ to join Barcelona this summer and he tried to formulate a €150m move to the Camp Nou.

Josep Maria Minguella explained how the French striker would have ‘loved’ to play alongside Lionel Messi and this desire increased when he discovered Neymar would be leaving the Blaugrana to join PSG.

“Mbappe told me he only wanted to sign for Barcelona when he found out Neymar was going to go to PSG,” Minguella told Cadena Copa.
