Thiago Motta not in PSG squad

Former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Motta has not been included in Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for their trip to the Bernabeu.

The Italian international has suffered extensive injury problems this season but despite making a comeback recently against Sochaux, he has not been risked for Wednesday night’s clash.

The 35-year-old’s position is likely to be taken by former Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra, who was signed by the Parisians in January.

Motta: PSG discuss Neymar move

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta has confirmed he and his teammates regularly discuss Barcelona star Neymar joining the club.

The Brazilian-born Italian international is one of a number of a strong Brazil contingent at the club, who the former Santos forward has reportedly told of his intention of joining the Parisians.

“Of course we speak about it,” Motta is quoted by ESPN as telling journalists in response to whether he and his teammates had discussed Neymar’s arrival.

Motta runs over protesting fan - report

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta struck a protesting fan with his car on Wednesday night when leaving Bourget airport, say reports.

The man, who reportedly suffered an injury to his back, was transported to a nearby hospital in Saint Denis for treatment, although his injuries are not thought to be serious says a report in RMC France.

Matias Kranevitter says he is “grateful” and very happy” about joining Atletico Madrid from River Plate on a five-year contract

The Argentine's arrival brings an end to Atleti's summer-long search for a defensive midfielder, although he will not start playing for his new club until the conclusion of the Club World Cup in December, which River are participating in.

Blanc hopes for Motta stay

Laurent Blanc has revealed that he hopes Thiago Motta will remain a Paris Saint-Germain player beyond September 1, amid interest from Atletico Madrid.

The Italy midfielder appeared to be heading out of Parc des Princes for a return to Los Colchoneros, with the player having confirmed that he was intent on pursuing the possibility, but he has since played his way back into contention.

Blanc: PSG want to keep Motta, but...

Laurent Blanc has reiterated Paris Saint-Germain’s desire to keep Atletico Madrid target Thiago Motta but admits “there are things that are out of our control”.

The Italy midfielder was forced to play the second half of PSG’s 1-0 victory over Lille on Friday following Adrien Rabiot’s 28th-minute dismissal, despite having been absent throughout pre-season.

“We want to keep Motta, but there are things that are out of our control,” he said after the game.

PSG rule out Motta exit

Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted that Atletico Madrid target Thiago Motta will not leave the club this month.

The Italy international recently announced his desire to quit Parc des Princes for a return to Los Colchoneros, who are in the market for a new defensive midfielder following Mario Suarez’s departure to Fiorentina, but the patron has made it clear that the player will honour the final year of his contract.

PSG intent on keeping Motta

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly informed Thiago Motta they have no intention of letting him leave despite Atletico Madrid’s interest.

AS claim PSG Coach Laurent Blanc has declared Motta to be too important to let walk away although his insistence has had little impact on Motta’s intentions.

The former Barcelona midfielder still wants to go and is willing to be patient, it’s said, and Atletico haven’t been put off either.
