Barcelona linked with Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Julian Weigl ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The German international was linked with a move to the Camp Nou in 2016, however the Catalan giants reportedly declining to follow up their initial interest on the then 21-year old.

Ousmane Dembele to travel to Qatar for injury treatment

Barcelona have confirmed that Ousmane Dembele will travel to Qatar for a period of rehabilitation on his thigh injury.

The French international came off in the first half during the Champions League win over his former club Borussia Dortmund, and he has since been confirmed as out of action for ten weeks.

Dembele has struggled with injury so far this season, and the club are hopeful he can responded well to the treatment at their designated clinic in Qatar, just as Samuel Umtiti did at the back end of last season.

Barcelona confirm Ousmane Dembele injury scare

Barcelona have confirmed that forward Ousmane Dembele will undergo further tests on a thigh injury suffered in the 3-1 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund.

The French international lasted less than half an hour against his former club, as he pulled up with an injury.

Barcelona medical staff and skipper Lionel Messi spoke with him on the pitch, prior to his withdrawal, but it was clear that he would in pain and would not be able to continue.

Barcelona have sealed their place in the Champions League knockout stages for a 16th successive season, following a 3-1 win at home to Borussia Dortmund.

First half goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi set the hosts on their way, with the Barca skipper in inspired form in the opening 45 minutes, before Antoine Griezmann sealed it after the break.

Barcelona will seal qualification for the Champions League last 16 with a win at home to Borussia Dortmund at the Camp Nou tonight.

The Catalan club are battling a defensive injury crisis at the moment, and manager Ernesto Valverde makes three changes from the side that won 2/1 at Leganes in La Liga action this weekend.

Sergio Roberto, who was banned at the weekend, comes back in for Moussa Wague, with Clement Lenglet replacing the suspended Gerard Pique at centre back.

FC Barcelona goal keeper Marc Ter Stegen has said he was always confident of saving a Borussia Dortmund penalty in their Champions League clash.

Ernesto Valverde's side returned to Champions League action with a 0-0 draw away at the Bundesliga side, with the German international turning in a man of match performance for the visitors.

Ter Stegen denied Marco Reus, former FC Barcelona teammate Paco Alcacer and Julian Brandt, as well as saving a second half penalty from national team colleague Reus.

POST MATCH: FC Barcelona held at Borussia Dortmund in Champions League return

FC Barcelona kicked off their Champions League return with a 0-0 draw at Borussia Dortmund.

Ernesto Valvderde opted to bring Luis Suarez back into the starting line up, after he netted two goals off the bench in the 5-2 weekend La Liga win at home to Valencia CF.

However, the Uruguayan was unable to spark the Catalan side into life in a first half of very few clear cut chances for either side.

Gerard Pique headed over from a corner, and Marco Reus forced a save from Marc Ter Stegen in the opening 45 minutes at the Signal Iduna Park.
