Neymar 'really happy' at Barca - Alba

Jordi Alba believes Neymar is ‘really happy’ at Barcelona but would not verify Gerard Pique’s twitter post staying the Brazilian was staying.

The post has not quelled rumours that the 25-year-old Brazilian will join Paris Saint-Germain if they trigger his €222m release clause at the Camp Nou, but the full-back ‘won’t get involved’.

“You will have to ask Pique about the post," Alba is quoted as saying by Marca.

Manchester United are considering a move for Barcelona full back Jordi Alba but all parties accept a deal this summer is unlikely, say reports.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils have upped their interest in the 28-year-old who had been considering his future at the Camp Nou but has been ‘calmed’ by the arrival of Coach Ernesto Valverde.

Alba backs 'brave' Valverde

Barcelona full back Jordi Alba has backed the appointment of ‘brave’ Ernesto Valverde who he believes will be good for him.

The former Valencia defender frequently found himself out of the starting eleven at the Camp Nou in Luis Enrique’s final few months due to a switch in formation, but is now optimistic for his future in the side.

"I'm very happy [with Valverde]," Alba is quoted as saying by Diario Sport.

"I think he's a brave Coach who likes playing with the ball.

Barca 'deserve' Copa title - Alba

Jordi Alba believes Barcelona ‘deserve’ to win the Copa del Rey this season ahead of their final against Alaves on Saturday.

The 28-year-old full-back mentioned the difficult run Luis Enrique’s side encountered on their way to the showpiece, although did warn against the strengths of Alaves.

"Barcelona deserve to win this Copa del Rey," Alba is quoted as saying by Marca.

"It has been a difficult Copa run with difficult opponents, and it has been very tough.

Alba wants Barca stay 'for many years'

Jordi Alba has moved to downplay rumours he may leave Barcelona this summer as his ‘intention is to stay for many more years’.

The Blaugrana’s formation switch to three defender had left the former Valencia man on the bench while Barca’s continual link to left-back Theo Hernandez has created further uncertainty.

"I have a contract here," Alba is quoted as saying by Diario Sport.

"My hope has always been to play here; my intention is to stay for many more years.

Barcelona are ruling out the departure of Jordi Alba to facilitate the signing of Theo Hernandez, say reports in Spain.

Onda Cero reported on Thursday that the Blaugrana are so keen to obtain the Atletico Madrid full-back, currently on a season-long loan at Alaves, they are willing to offer Alba on a loan deal to secure the transfer.

AS reported on Sunday that Lopetegui had “recovered the best” Alba, who has fallen out of the first-team picture at Barca since their switch to a 3-4-3 formation, and the left-back suggested he preferred the former after a campaign in which “I haven’t been able to play the games that I would’ve liked”.

Alba wants Isco at Barcelona

Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba would welcome his club making a sensational attempt to try and sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

The former Valencia and Malaga midfielder is willing to quit the Bernabeu this summer with Alba – who was a teammate of Isco’s at the Mestalla - admitting he would welcome a move for his international colleague at the Blaugrana.

"All good players are welcome," Alba told reporters at the opening of a football school carrying his name in L'Hospitalet del Llobregat.
