Granada, Malaga, Las Palmas cannot register new players

La Liga have informed Granada, Malaga and Las Palmas they will not be allowed to register any more players for official competition.

As the report in Marca outlines, the trio of clubs will not be allowed to bring more players into their first-team squad until they 'normalise their salary control'.

Official: Manolo Jimenez out, Paco Herrera in at Las Palmas

Segunda side Las Palmas have sacked AEK Athens’ title-winning Coach Manolo Jimenez and brought back Paco Herrera to replace him.

Las Palmas President Miguel Angel Ramirez confirmed the news after his club’s 2-2 draw with Granada on Friday, which was their fourth such result in succession.

“Our objective is more ambitious than the results we’re getting right now, so we’ve made the decision to dismiss Manolo Jiménez,” said Ramirez.

Manchester City's David Silva wants to finish at Las Palmas

Manchester City playmaker David Silva wants to end his playing career at hometown club Las Palmas, he has confirmed.

Silva joined City from Valencia in 2010 and has amassed a total of 349 appearances for the English club, winning three league titles.

“For City, two more seasons - what's left on my contract,” Silva told an interview with BBC when asked about his future.

“After that, I don't know. It depends how I feel physically and mentally although I have always said that I'd like to play for Las Palmas - my local team.

Las Palmas sign De La Bella

Las Palmas have completed the signing of defender Alberto De La Bella from Real Sociedad on a free transfer, it has been confirmed.

The defender has joined Los Amarillos on a two-year contract with an option for a third and becomes the latest signing in a rebuilding job at the Gran Canarian club.

De La Bella will provide competition for Dani Castellano at the club and joins summer arrivals Ruben Castro, Juan Cala, Rafa Mir and Alvaro Lemos, among others.

Las Palmas sign striker Pekhart

Las Palmas have continued to recruit strongly ahead of the start of the Spanish second tier season with the signing of striker Tomas Pekhart.

The 29-year-old has two international goals in 19 caps for the Czech Republic and was most recently at Israeli club Hapoel Be'er Sheva, where he netted 10 goals in 28 outings.

Pekhart started his career at Tottenham before playing for an array of European clubs Sparta Prague, Nuremburg, Ingolstadt and AEK Athens.

Las Palmas sign Sacko from Leeds

Las Palmas have completed the season-long loan signing of Malian international Hadi Sacko from Leeds United, it has been confirmed.

The 24-year-old has undergone a medical at Los Amarillos, who were relegated from the top-flight last season, ahead of the move.

The former Sporting CP winger previously enjoyed stints at Bordeaux and Sochaux in France, while he has presented the French national team up to Under-20 level.

Rafa Mir joins Las Palmas on loan

Recently relegated Las Palmas have completed the season-long loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Rafa Mir.

Mir joined Wolves in January from Valencia in a €1.5m deal but was limited to just two substitute appearances in the Championship, totalling 29 minutes of action.

The move came to fruition due to the striker’s fine form for Valencia B this season, where he netted 15 goals in 19 appearances.

Rafa Mir 'would like' Las Palmas switch

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Rafa Mir is edging towards a season-long loan deal at recently relegated Las Palmas, according to reports in Spain.

Various Spanish media outlets have cited a report in Zona Amarilla which claims the Gran Canarian club are working on a deal for the 21-year-old.

“I would like to play at UD Las Palmas, it is an attractive project,” Mir told La Provincia.

“Who would not like to play in the Canary Islands?”

Loic Remy leaves La Liga, joins Lille

Loic Remy has joined French club Lille after spending last season in Spain with Las Palmas and Getafe, it has been confirmed.

The 31-year-old made just 12 starts in La Liga last season across both clubs, netting eight goals across his two stints.

His contract at parent club Las Palmas – whom he joined a year ago from Chelsea – expired following their relegation to the second tier.

“I’m really happy to come home to France,” Remy said in a statement, released on the club website.
