Ebert off to Moscow?

After being released by Real Valladolid last week, reports suggest that Patrick Ebert could be on his way to Russia.

The Pucela confirmed last Friday that the German winger was to be let go from his contract after falling out with the club’s hierarchy.

And L’Equipe have revealed this morning that Spartak Moscow will make the most of the situation by offering the 26-year-old a deal.

Ebert is set to be a direct replacement for Kim Kallstrom, who moved to Arsenal in January.

Ebert released by Real Valladolid

Real Valladolid have confirmed that Patrick Ebert has left the club and is not a free agent.

The German midfielder had started the season so well, scoring three and assisting four goals in his first seven appearances.

But after refusing to play in the Pucela’s match with Villarreal at the end of last month, the Jose Zorrilla outfit have confirmed that the 26-year-old’s contract has been rescinded.

The attacker’s existing deal was meant to expire in June this year, but has been let go after an argument with the hierarchy.

‘Selling Ebert in January not feasible’

Real Valladolid’s Alberto Marcos has outlined the club’s determination to sign Patrick Ebert to a new deal, rather than sell him in January.

The German attacking midfielder has impressed in his 18 months so far with Valladolid, but sees speculation over his future returning as he approaches the final six months of his contract in January.

For his club, losing Ebert in the middle of the season is not an option they are considering.

Ebert sorry for red card

Patrick Ebert has said he has apologised to his Real Valladolid teammates for his red card at the weekend.

The German was booked for the second time with 15 minutes of his side’s eventual 1-0 defeat at Almeria on Saturday to earn his marching orders.

Even if an appeal is successful, Ebert is likely to be suspended for Valladolid’s trip out to Valencia this weekend, as the first yellow was his fifth of the season.

“I do not know if it was fair or not, but I only committed two fouls in the game,” Ebert has considered this week.

Athletic triumph in Valladolid

Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Bilbao reign got off to a winning start with a 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid at the Jose Zorrilla.

The Basques opened the game brightly with Markel Susaeta almost giving them the lead when he pulled a shot wide of the near post, but on 28 minutes the same player did hit the target when he found the bottom corner from Benat Etxebarria’s cross.

However, the lead lasted just three minutes as Patrick Ebert latched on to Oscar’s square ball to drill a low shot past Gorka Iraizoz.

Ebert: I’m ready for next step

Patrick Ebert has indicated that he is ready to leave Real Valladolid this summer, but that Atletico Madrid face competition for his signature.

The German attacking midfielder has enjoyed a prominent debut season in La Liga and has subsequently been linked with a move this summer.

Despite having been caught in March discussing such a possibility with Atletico Madrid, the 26-year-old has indicated that the capital club are not his only option.

‘If we repeat that, we’ll lose 5-0’

Patrick Ebert has warned his Real Valladolid teammates to improve their performance levels or face a thrashing at home to Sevilla on Sunday.

Valladolid played out a disappointing 1-1 draw to Granada last weekend in a game that their midfielder felt should be a warning side heading into Week 33.

“Normally we would have lost. I do not know why we played so badly, but we were unable to get into Granada’s area and create chances,” Ebert told reporters this week.

Djukic has faith in Ebert

Miroslav Djukic has offered his backing to Patrick Ebert to put recent controversy aside and commit to Real Valladolid until at least the summer.

The German was caught meeting with Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luiz Perez Caminero last week, much to the ire of his club.

However, his Coach has offered his support, stating his belief in the midfielder’s professionalism.
