Deportivo's Carles Gil makes MLS move

Deportivo la Coruna midfielder Carles Gil has completed a transfer window move to Major League Socccer side New England Revolution. 

Gil has been a regular for Deportivo la Coruna in their promotion bid from the Segunda Division this season, however he has taken the option of a big money move to the United States. 

He has already linked up with his new team mates, who are currently undergoing preseason training in Marbella, after signing a multi year deal as their Designated Player, according to NBC Sports.

Fernando Navarro confirms retirement

Former Spanish top flight defender Fernando Navarro has confirmed his retirement from football aged 36.

Capable of playing either in the heart of defence or as a left-back, Navarro is most famed for his stint at Sevilla between 2008 and 2015.

He made 35 first-team appearances for Barcelona across five years before enjoying three years at Real Mallorca in the top-flight.

Lucas Perez set for West Ham switch

West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal striker Lucas Perez in a €6m (£5m) deal, according to reports.

The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Deportivo but managed just eight goals in 35 appearances before returning to North London this summer.

Reports in Spain this weekend suggested the striker had sealed a €6m switch to the Lisbon-based club but this has since been denied.

Hammers set for Lucas Perez deal

West Ham are working on a deal to sign Arsenal striker Lucas Perez in a €4.5m (£4m) deal, according to reports.

The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Deportivo but managed just eight goals in 35 appearances before returning to North London this summer.

Reports in Spain this weekend suggested the striker had sealed a €6m switch to the Lisbon-based club but this has since been denied.

A report in the Mirror now states his desire is to remain in the Premier League while the Hammers wants a backup for striker Marko Arnautovic.

Madrid's long-term Fede Valverde plan

Real Madrid have no plans to sell midfielder Fede Valverde and see him as playing a key part in the future of the club, say Diario AS.

The 20-year-old, who joined Madrid from Penarol in a €5m deal in 2015, spent last season on loan at Deportivo who have stated they would be interested in renewing that deal despite their relegation.

However, this fresh report claims the European champions envisage the Uruguayan as being loaned to another club in Spain’s top flight and believe he will be in their first-team squad in future campaigns.

Lucas Perez future remains unclear

The agent of Arsenal’s Lucas Perez has denied Spanish reports that the striker has agreed a move to Portuguese club Sporting CP.

The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Deportivo but managed just eight goals in 35 appearances before returning to North London this summer.

Report in Spain this weekend suggested the striker had sealed a €6m switch to the Lisbon-based club but this has since been denied.

Agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle is cited as saying by CalcioMercato.com: “I have never spoken with Sporting, it is not true.”

Depor's Sidnei set for Krasnodar

In-demand Deportivo defender Sidnei is set to join Russian club Krasnodar, according to a report in La Voz de Galicia.

The Brazilian defender looks set to leave relegated Depor this summer and last month El Desmarque reported both Real Betis and Villarreal held an interest.

There were reportedly two drawbacks regarding the deal, the report continues, with the first being his valuation of €10m and the second that he has not yet been granted EU citizenship.

Leganes look to Kakuta

Leganes are hopeful of signing Gael Kakuta from Hebei China Fortune on a permanent basis having spent last season on loan at Amiens.

The DR Congo international has been linked to the Madrid-based club by L’Equipe while English club Huddersfield Town are also interested.

Kakuta formerly spent a season in Madrid on loan at Rayo Vallecano before joining for Sevilla in 2015, where he made just two appearances.

Any deal for the former Chelsea midfielder would be in the region of €4m.
