PSG to rival Real Madrid for Christian Eriksen

Real Madrid are set to face competition from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Tottenham's Christian Eriksen next summer.

According to reports in the Daily Mail, the French side are interested in bringing Eriksen to the Parc de Princes, as part of a summer recruitment drive in 2020.

Zinedine Zidane's side have tracked the Danish international for the last 18 months, and had looked set to bring him to Madrid this summer, after he confirmed his desire to leave Tottenham.

Barcelona highlighting stars as Luis Suarez replacement

Barcelona have reportedly drawn up a shortlist of long term replacements for Luis Suarez.

According to reports in Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the defending La Liga champions have identified four targets to replace the Uruguayan international when his contract expires in 2021.

Suarez turns 33 during the course of this season, and he is not expected to be offer an extension on his deal, meaning Ernesto Valverde will make a contingency plan.

Zinedine Zidane plays down PSG defeat in Champions League opener

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was pragmatic about his side after their 3-0 opening Champions League defeat at PSG.

The Ligue 1 champions dominated Zidane's side for the full 90 minutes, and despite a fantastic record in Europe in his first spell in charge, he refused to criticise his side for their poor showing.

"We were not at the level I expected, but PSG played very well.

"We lacked intensity and that was punished tonight, and they were better than us in every department, but we cannot overestimate the result.

Casemiro makes 'no excuses' for PSG defeat

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro believes his side can have no excuses for their 3-0 opening Champions League defeat against PSG.

Goals from former Real Madrid forward Angel Di Maria and Thomas Meunier sealed a dominant performance from Thomas Tuchel's side, as Real Madrid struggled to cope with the intensity of their hopes.

The La Liga side were without captain Sergio Ramos, as well as experienced duo Marcelo and Luka Modric, but the Brazilian was in no mood for excuses at full time in Paris.

POST MATCH: Real Madrid swept aside by PSG in Champions League return

Real Madrid were outclassed by Paris Saint-Germain in their return to Champions League action, in a 3-0 defeat in Paris.

Zinedine Zidane led his side out for the first European game following his return to the club in March, and despite winning the competition three times during his first spell in charge at the club, but they were second best for the majority of the night.

Both sides struggled to create chances in the opening stages, with former Real Madrid forward Angel Di Maria broke the deadlock on 14 minutes.

Defensive issues for Real Madrid ahead of PSG clash

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is facing a defensive crisis ahead of their clash with Paris Saint-Germain tonight.

The Frenchman is without club captain Sergio Ramos through injury, as well as experienced pair Marcelo and Nacho Fernandez for the trip to the French capital.

In midfield, Marco Asensio remains a long term injury absentee, with Isco, Federico Valverde and Luka Modric all missing for the meeting with the defending Ligue 1 champions.

Neymar has Champions League suspension reduced

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has had his Champions League suspension reduced from three games to two.

The Brazilian was handed a three game ban following his criticism on Instagram of referee Damir Skomina, after the Slovenian controversially awarded Manchester United a late penalty in their 3-1 Champions League last 16 win over the Ligue 1 side. 

Despite not playing in the game, Neymar was handed a retrospective punishment by UEFA, as Thomas Tuchel's side crashed out of Europe.

Neymar slams PSG for blocking his exit

Neymar has hit out at Paris Saint-Germain for blocking his exit from the club this summer.

The Brazilian international stated his desire to leave the French champions at the end of the 2018-19 season, and he was heavily linked with return to former side FC Barcelona.

However, the La Liga champions declined to make a bid for the 28-year old, with PSG demanding a fee in the region of €200M, and Neymar has revealed his frustration at the situation.

"Everyone knows that I wanted to leave, and I made that very clear.
