Diego Costa returns to Atletico Madrid training

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has returned to first team training after two months on the sidelines with a back injury.

The Spanish international has not played for Diego Simeone's side since November 10, after the club opted to send him for surgery on a persistent problem with a herniated disc.

However, he has now joined up with his team mates for first team training, and the former Chelsea man is expected to join in with full sessions in the coming weeks.

Atletico Madrid consider Alexandre Lacazette as Edinson Cavani alternative

Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering an audacious move for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, if they fail in a bid for PSG's Edinson Cavani.

Diego Simeone's side have been heavily linked with a January move for the Uruguayan international, who is out of contract at the Ligue 1 champions at the end of the campaign.

However that reported deal has been disrupted by Los Rojiblancos' reluctance to pay PSG's aksing price of €10M, for a player who is available on a free transfer in less than six months.

PSG demand €30m fee for Edinson Cavani

Paris Saint-Germain are demanding a €30m transfer fee from Atletico Madrid for striker Edinson Cavani this month, report Marca.

The Uruguayan is out of contact in the French capital in the summer and Atleti are already said to have a personal agreement with him but want to make his signing this month.

The report claims Los Rojiblancos have made an offer of €10m for the player but this has been rejected as the Parisians demand €20m more.

Barcelona top Deloitte Money League for first time

Barcelona have overtaken El Clasico rivals Real Madrid to top the Deloitte Money League for the first time.

The Catalan giants comfortably topped the table with an annual revenue of €840.8m - an increase of 21.7% - for the 2018-19 season, with Madrid in second place with €757.3m, an increase of 0.9%.

The Blaugrana are the first club to surpass €800m in a year for revenue, which is largely attributed to the club adapting a new operating model.

Fede Valverde apologises for Alvaro Morata tackle

Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde has apologised for his foul on Alvaro Morata in Sunday’s Spanish Supercopa final.

With the scoreline deadlocked at 0-0 in the closing stages of extra time, Atletico Madrid striker Morata found himself free on goal and facing a one-on-one with Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Valverde desperately hurtled back towards his own goal and made a cynical, lunging tackle on the Spain international, stopping him in his tracks with the wild challenge.
