Santiago Solari would 'love' Premier League move

Former Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari has revealed he would love to manage a Premier League side in the future.

Solari was dismissed from his post in March, after taking over from Julen Lopetegui at the Santiago Bernabeu in October 2018, with Zinedine Zidane replacing him until the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Spanish court rules against La Liga US match

A Spanish judge has ruled against La Liga staging the clash between Villarreal and Atletico Madrid in Miami next month.

Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and La Liga had formally requested their December league game be played in Miami, while a similar request was made last year for Girona’s tie at home to Barcelona.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has dismissed claims extra rest will benefit his side over Real Madrid for December’s El Clasico.

The match had been scheduled to be played at the Blaugrana’s Camp Nou stadium on 26 October but due to the current volatility of the political situation in Catalonia, La Liga asked that the game be reversed to Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

This request ruled out in favour of a postponement as both clubs had rejected the switch of venue and agreed on a new date, along with the Spanish FA.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has launched a fresh attack on English Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Spanish league chief has accused City of ‘financial doping’ in recent years in order to achieve their success - back-to-back Premier League titles and they won all four domestic trophies in England last season.

The outspoken Tebas has been a long-term critic of both City and French champions Paris Saint-Germain - the clubs are owned by individuals with power in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar respectively.

Man City's Rodri: Premier League more competitive than La Liga

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has stated the English Premier League is ‘more competitive’ than La Liga in Spain.

The English champions triggered the 23-year-old’s €70m release clause at Atletico Madrid in summer and despite picking up a hamstring injury, has already made 14 first-team appearances this campaign.
