Celta Vigo complain over La Liga scheduling

Celta Vigo have lodged a complaint to La Liga over the scheduling of their home game with Osasuna, according to a report in Marca.

The league have scheduled the Galician side to host Osasuna on the night of the Three Kings festival in Spain, despite clearing the evening schedule of matches before that tie.

Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena set for loan exit

Barcelona are set to loan out midfielder Carles Alena in January without a purchase option, say Diario Sport.

The Catalan outlet say that Alena will be loaned out in the short term with Ivan Rakitic and Moussa Wague also set to exit the Camp Nou, with no arrivals in January.

Barcelona to appeal Lionel Messi yellow card against Celta Vigo

Barcelona are set to launch an appeal against Lionel Messi's yellow card in their 4-1 La Liga win over Celta Vigo.

Messi turned in a virtuoso performance against Oscar Garcia's side at the Camp Nou, netting a hat trick including two direct free kicks either side of the half time break.

However he was unhappy with referee Cuarda Fernandez's decision to caution him for a foul on midfielder Pape Cheikh in the 39th minute, from which Lucas Olaza netted Celta's equaliser from the resulting free kick.

Barcelona's Nelson Semedo ruled out for five weeks

Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo is set for a five week injury lay off, according to reports in Marca.

The Portuguese international was withdrawn after just twenty minutes in their weekend 4-1 win over Celta Vigo at the Camp Nou, and reports have now confirmed a recurrence of a calf injury.

He has been ever present at right back so far this season, meaning Ernesto Valverde will have to shuffle his defensive unit around in the coming weeks.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde hailed talisman Lionel Messi for his match winning performance in the 4-1 victory at home to Celta Vigo.
The win lifts Barcelona back to the top of La Liga, but it was Messi's hat trick that dominated the post match conversation.

Barcelona responded to the La Liga title challenge thrown down by Real Madrid with a Lionel Messi-inspired 4-1 win at home to Celta Vigo.
La Blaugrana went back above Real Madrid at full time, following their 4-0 win at Eibar earlier.
Barcelona reacted to their 3-1 defeat at Levante last weekend in style, with Messi at this incredible best at  the Camp Nou.
Celta worked hard to keep Barca at bay in the opening stages, but they were undone on 23 minutes.

Barcelona will be aiming to keep the La Liga title pressure on Real Madrid as they host Celta Vigo tonight.

Boss Ernesto Valverde is boosted by the return to fitness of striker Luis Suarez, and he takes his place on the bench.

Valverde makes changes from the side that drew 0-0 with Slavia Prague in midweek Champions League action.

Junior Firpo is in for the injured Jordi Alba at left back, with Samuel Umtiti replacing Clement Lenglet at centre back.

Barcelona have been boosted by the return to fitness of striker Luis Suarez, ahead of their La Liga tie with Celta Vigo tonight.
