Inter Milan star Matias Vecino linked with Sevilla move

Sevilla have reportedly joined the growing list of clubs interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino in the coming weeks.

The Uruguayan international joined the Serie A giants at the start of the 2017-18 season, from Fiorentina, following two season long loan spells at Cagliari and Empoli.

However he reportedly fell out with Inter boss Antonio Conte during last season, and the 28-year old had looked set to move on during the summer, with Sampdoria and Genoa both reported to be keen on bringing him away from the San Siro.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro hailed the mental resolve of his team mates following their 2-1 win at home to Sevilla.

The Brazilian scored the two goals to seal all three points for Zinedine Zidane's side at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the hosts were made to work hard by the Andalucians.

Julen Lopetegui hails 'extraordinary' Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui has praised the work of his counterpart Zinedine Zidane ahead of their meeting this weekend.

Los Blancos welcome Lopetegui and his side to the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend, in the former Spain boss’ first trip back to Madrid following his exit in October 2019.

Lopetegui lasted less than four months in charge in Madrid, after controversially leaving his role in charge of the Spanish national team.

However, despite the reported negativity surrounding his exit, Lopetegui has no issues with Zidane, or his former club.

Gareth Bale will miss Real Madrid clash with Sevilla due to an ongoing illness.

The Welsh international missed Los Blancos Supercopa success in Saudi Arabia due to a chest infection, but it was initially hoped he would be fit in time for the visit of Julen Lopetegui’s side.

However, Zinedine Zidane has not included him in the 19-man squad to today’s clash at the Santiago Bernabeu, as the hosts look to keep the title pressure on rivals Barcelona.
