Vinicius Junior staying at Real Madrid - Zidane

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has ruled out Vinicius Junior leaving the club on loan: “His time will come and he will stay.”

The teenage Brazilian forward arrived at the outgoing European champions last summer and made an exciting impression in his debut season for the club.

“It's true that he hasn't played much,” Zidane admitted in a pre-match press conference, as cited by Marca.

Real Valladolid owner Ronaldo Nazario has admitted he would love to sign Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior on loan.

“I would love to have Vinicius, last season he saved Real Madrid from a great failure,” Ronaldo told Fox in Brazil, as cited by Cadena Cope.

Valladolid president Ronaldo Nazario: I want to buy a Portuguese team

Real Valladolid owner Ronaldo Nazario has confirmed he is looking to buy a team in Portugal but will not invest in an English club.

The former Brazil international took charge at the Spanish side at the beginning of last season while Valladolid have since re-established their position in the top flight.

The former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker bought 51% of the club’s shares in a €30m deal replacing Carlos Suarez – who has remained on the club’s board – in the role.

Midweek madness

The TV scheduling for the midweek fixtures in La Liga means that several clubs have a very small turnaround between games this weekend. For example, Mallorca - whose game finished at 9pm on Thursday night - face a midday Sunday start away at Real Valladolid. Transit and tiredness means that if we haven’t already then we may see rotations from a number of clubs in this gameweek. Remember, in Spanish football playing three games in a week is unusual unless you are competing in European football.

Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal was full of praise for skipper Lionel Messi after his starring display in their 5-1 win over Real Valladolid.

Messi netted two goals, and assisted two more, including one for Vidal, and the Chile international was lost for words to describe Messi's brilliance at full time.

"Messi always surprises us.

"Every day in training, he amazes us with what he can do.

"He is from another planet, he really is.

"I have no words to describe him."

Barcelona return to the La Liga summit with 5-1 win over Real Valladolid

Lionel Messi was at his sensational best as Barcelona stormed back to the top of La Liga, with a 5-1 win at home to Real Valladolid.

The Catalan's skipper has endured an injury disrupted start to the 2019-20 season, but he netted twice, and assisted two goals, as he took Sergio Gonzalez's side to pieces at the Camp Nou.

French defender Clement Lenglet gave La Blaugrana the lead inside the the opening two minutes, as he expertly slammed home from 15 yards, as Real Valladolid twice failed to clear Messi's cross into the box.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde recalls defender Gerard Pique to the starting line up for their La Liga clash with Real Valladolid.

The former Spanish international missed the 3-0 win at Eibar a fortnight ago due to suspension, before bringing him back into the team for the 2-1 Champions League win over Slavia Prague.

Ernesto Valverde makes two changes from the win in the Czech Republic six days ago, with Arturo Vidal and Ansu Fati coming in for Arthur Melo and Antoine Griezmann.

Real Valladolid boss Sergio insists Barcelona will field their strongest line-up in the league meeting between the two on Tuesday.
