Real Madrid headache over Andriy Lunin loan deal

Real Madrid face a headache over the season-long loan deal of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin at Real Valladolid, according to Marca.

The Ukrainian made just four La Liga appearances on loan at Leganes last campaign, but it had been thought he could be afforded more opportunities this season.

However, the shot-stopper has yet to play a minute for Valladolid across any of their first three league games - playing second fiddle to Jordi Masip.

Raphael Varane: We deserved more against Real Valladolid

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane was left frustrated following their 1-1 draw against Real Valladolid.

Los Blancos struggled to find a way past Sergio Gonzalez's well organised side, with a late goal from Karim Benzema looking to have given Zinedine Zidane's side a first home win of the season.

However a last minute goal from Sergi Guardiola secured a valuable point for the visitors, and the French international was irritated by their late slip.

"We played well  and deserved a better result.

Real Madrid suffer late drama in Real Valladolid draw

Real Madrid drew 1-1 against Real Valladolid in their first home game of La Liga season. 

Zinedine Zidane's side struggled to break down a stubborn Real Valladolid side for the majority of the game at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

He opted to hand a first club start since 2017 to James Rodriguez, in place of suspended midfielder Luka Modrich, as well as a first start of the season for defender Dani Carvajal.

Real Madrid's Alvaro Odriozola out of Real Valladolid clash

Real Madrid will be without defensive pair Alvaro Odriozola and Ferland Mendy for the visit of Real Valladolid later today.

Mendy has not featured for Los Blancos following a knee injury he suffered during pre-season, whilst Spanish international Odriozola has been omitted from the squad following the return of Dani Carvajal.

Carvajal missed the opening day 4-1 win at Celta Vigo after a one-game suspension was carried over from last season, and he is expected to come straight into the starting XI.

Andriy Lunin set to face parent club Real Madrid

Three Real Madrid loanees - including goalkeeper Andriy Lunin - could face their parent club this weekend with Real Valladolid.

As Marca outline, the Ukrainian goalkeeper alongside Javi Sanchez and Jorge de Frutos have no clauses in their loan agreements to stop them facing Los Blancos.

None of the players participated in Valladolid’s opening day win at Real Betis although Lunin was an unused substitute, with Jordi Masip preferred as goalkeeper.

Real Madrid's Takefusa Kubo joining Real Mallorca

Real Mallorca will complete the signing of Takefusa Kubo on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid, according to reports.

El Mundo Deportivo cite a report from La Sexta that the Japanese midfielder has decided to join the newly-promoted club ahead of a move to Real Valladolid, which has previously been reported.

Madrid believe that Kubo is ready to play top-flight football as opposed to spending time in their club’s Castilla team.

Takefusa Kubo rejects Real Valladolid loan

Real Madrid teenage sensation Takefusa Kubo has rejected a loan move to Real Valladolid.

The 18-year old Japanese international joined Los Blancos this summer from J-League side FC Tokyo, and impressed during the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

Kubo, who spent time as a youth team player at rivals FC Barcelona, was expected to play for Real Madrid's reserve and U18 sides during the 2019-20 season, prior to Real Valladolid's interest coming to the fore.
