Done deal: Getafe sign Stoke midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo on loan

Getafe have completed the loan signing of Nigerian international Oghenekaro Etebo from Stoke City, the club have confirmed.

Etebo has joined Los Azulones on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign, while the Madrid-based club will also have an option to sign him permanently.

Espanyol move to land Getafe striker Angel Rodriguez

Espanyol have triggered the €10m release clause of Getafe striker Angel Rodriguez ahead of a January transfer, say Cadena Cope.

The report says that the Catalan club will double the wages of the 32-year-old and offering him a three-year deal, with the player said to be considering the move.

Angel has scored 38 goals for Los Azulones since joining from Real Zaragoza in the summer of 2017 on a free transfer, proving somewhat of a scoring revelation since.

Real Madrid and Getafe agree Brahim Diaz loan, but player says no

Real Madrid and Getafe have agreed a loan deal for playmaker Brahim Diaz, but the player is refusing to leave Los Blancos.

A report in Marca says that an agreement has been reached between the clubs and whilst Madrid are pushing the player towards Los Azulones, he is insisting that he wants to fight for a first-team spot.

Getafe push for Brahim Diaz loan signing from Real Madrid

Getafe club president Angel Torres wants to bring Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz to the club on loan for the rest of the season.

The Spanish U21 international has barely featured for Zinedine Zidane's side so far during the current campaign, with just 40 minutes of action across four games in all competitions.

Zidane has altered this view on the former Manchester City man, from wanting him to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu during the summer, to now being open to a potential exit in January.

Marc Cucurella denies racist abuse of Eder Miltao

Getafe midfielder Marc Cucurella has denied racially abusing Real Madrid's Eder Militao during their weekend clash at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

The former Barcelona was involved in an altercation with the Brazilian international during the second half, when Militao reacted to a decision that went against the visitors.

Dani Carvajal hails match winner Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has praised goal keeper Thibaut Courtois, following their 3-0 win at Getafe.

Goals from Raphael Varane and Luka Modric, and an own goal from Getafe keeper David Soria, secured a first three La Liga points for Real Madrid in 2020, but Courtois' performance was vital.

The Belgian international made two outstanding stops from Jaime Mata and Leandro Cabrera in the first 45 minutes, before clearly a potential own goal from Varane after the break.

Real Madrid kick off 2020 with confident 3-0 win at Getafe

Real Madrid got themselves back up and running in 2020, with a straightforward 3-0 win away at Getafe. 

Zinedine Zidane's side have now put the pressure back onto Barcelona in the La Liga title race, as goals from Raphael Varane and Luka Modric, following a David Soria own goal, secured an important three points.

The hosts were their usual dogged selves in the opening stages at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, restricting Real Madrid to very few chances in the opening stages.

West Ham linked with Getafe star Nemanja Maksimovic

Getafe midfielder Nemanja Maksimovic has emerged as a shock transfer target for Premier League side West Ham.

The Serbian international impressed last season with Jose Bordalas' side, after completing a €4.5M move from Valencia CF, making 36 La Liga appearances as they secured Europa League qualification.

The 24-year old has maintained his place in the side this season, as Getafe reportedly rejected bids for him in the summer from clubs across Europe.

Gareth Bale returns to Real Madrid starting line up for Getafe clash

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has opted to recall Gareth Bale to the starting line up for the first game of 2020.

Los Blancos make the short trip to their city rivals Getafe, as they look to close the gap on Barcelona at the top of La Liga with a win at the Estadio Butarque.

Bale missed the final game of 2019, a 0-0 draw at home to Athletic Bilbao, with a minor injury, but he replaces Vinicius Junior in the visitors attack.

Real Madrid face rivals Getafe without James Rodriguez

Real Madrid will continue to be without midfielder James Rodriguez, as they kick off 2020 with a La Liga trip to Getafe.

Zinedine Zidane's side face their city rivals with no fresh update on their injury situation before the Spanish winter break in December 2019.

The Frenchman had stated before Christmas that he was confident Rodriguez would be able to return in early January, however he has not been passed fit for the first game of the year.
