Fabio Capello: Gareth Bale has lost focus at Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has criticised Gareth Bale for losing his focus as a professional footballer.

The Welsh international was strongly linked with a move away from the club in the summer, with Zinedine Zidane confirming he was available for transfer ahead of the new campaign.

However the ex Tottenham man opted to stay in the Spanish capital, but he has remained the subject of criticism during an injury disrupted start to the 2019-20 season, for off the pitch activities including regularly playing golf in his spare time.

Getafe push for Brahim Diaz loan signing from Real Madrid

Getafe club president Angel Torres wants to bring Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz to the club on loan for the rest of the season.

The Spanish U21 international has barely featured for Zinedine Zidane's side so far during the current campaign, with just 40 minutes of action across four games in all competitions.

Zidane has altered this view on the former Manchester City man, from wanting him to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu during the summer, to now being open to a potential exit in January.

Getafe midfielder Marc Cucurella has denied racially abusing Real Madrid's Eder Militao during their weekend clash at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

The former Barcelona was involved in an altercation with the Brazilian international during the second half, when Militao reacted to a decision that went against the visitors.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is confident that his side are prepared for the challenge of a La Liga title push in 2020.

The Frenchman was speaking following an impressive first win of 2020, in a 3-0 victory at Getafe, and he praised the application of his players at what is traditionally a difficult ground to play at for La Liga's bigger names.

Real ended 2019 trailing Barcelona by two points at the top of the table, and Zidane believes his players are ready for the fight ahead.

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has praised goal keeper Thibaut Courtois, following their 3-0 win at Getafe.

Goals from Raphael Varane and Luka Modric, and an own goal from Getafe keeper David Soria, secured a first three La Liga points for Real Madrid in 2020, but Courtois' performance was vital.

The Belgian international made two outstanding stops from Jaime Mata and Leandro Cabrera in the first 45 minutes, before clearly a potential own goal from Varane after the break.

Real Madrid got themselves back up and running in 2020, with a straightforward 3-0 win away at Getafe. 

Zinedine Zidane's side have now put the pressure back onto Barcelona in the La Liga title race, as goals from Raphael Varane and Luka Modric, following a David Soria own goal, secured an important three points.

The hosts were their usual dogged selves in the opening stages at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, restricting Real Madrid to very few chances in the opening stages.
