Barcelona, Real Madrid battle for Fluminense's Marcos Paulo

Barcelona and Real Madrid are both keen on signing Fluminense teenage forward Marcos Paulo, report Diario AS.

It is claimed that José Mari Bakero, technical secretary of Barça’s B side, travelled to Rio de Janeiro last summer and tabled an offer of €5m for the player.

Official: Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin loaned to Real Oviedo

Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has joined second division side Real Oviedo on loan until the end of the season.

Lunin had not played in La Liga on loan at Real Valladolid as he has not been able to place the club’s number one goalkeeper Jordi Masip, with the news now confirmed that he is now going to the Asturian team.

Marca cite a report from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo which claims the Lisbon giants want a deal for the 26-year-old, who has not started a game this campaign to date.

Barcelona top Deloitte Money League for first time

Barcelona have overtaken El Clasico rivals Real Madrid to top the Deloitte Money League for the first time.

The Catalan giants comfortably topped the table with an annual revenue of €840.8m - an increase of 21.7% - for the 2018-19 season, with Madrid in second place with €757.3m, an increase of 0.9%.

The Blaugrana are the first club to surpass €800m in a year for revenue, which is largely attributed to the club adapting a new operating model.

Real Madrid to loan goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to Real Oviedo

Real Madrid are set to loan goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to Real Oviedo following his return to the club, report Diario AS.

Lunin had not played in La Liga on loan at Real Valladolid as he has not been able to place the club’s number one goalkeeper Jordi Masip.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian - who joined Madrid from Zorya in a €7.5m deal in the summer of 2018 - only started four La Liga games last season at Leganes, where he could not displace Ivan Cuellar.

Achraf Hakimi: Heart divided between Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund loanee Achraf Hakimi has revealed his heart is split between the Bundesliga side and parent club Real Madrid.

It follows a report from Diario Sport that Borussia Dortmund - where the Moroccan is currently on loan - are determined to extend their ownership of the player.

The defender arrived in Germany on a two-year long loan deal in the summer of 2018 and is now entering the final months of that arrangement.

Fede Valverde apologises for Alvaro Morata tackle

Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde has apologised for his foul on Alvaro Morata in Sunday’s Spanish Supercopa final.

With the scoreline deadlocked at 0-0 in the closing stages of extra time, Atletico Madrid striker Morata found himself free on goal and facing a one-on-one with Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Valverde desperately hurtled back towards his own goal and made a cynical, lunging tackle on the Spain international, stopping him in his tracks with the wild challenge.

Real Madrid goal keeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed the secret behind his penalty save in their Spanish Supercopa penalty shoot out win over Atletico Madrid.

The arch rivals played out a scrappy 0-0 draw across 120 minutes of nervous action in Jeddah, with the Belian international making excellent saves from Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix in normal time.

The former Chelsea man was then vital in added time, after the dismissal of team mate Federico Valverde, with stops from Kieran Trippier and Angel Correa, before the drama of penalties.

Atletico Madrid goal keeper Jan Oblak had no time for excuses following their penalty shoot out defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa final.

Neither side were able to find a goal across 90 minutes of action, with Los Rojiblancos denied b some excellent goal keeping from Thiabut Courtois in the closing stages of extra time in Jeddah.

Real Madrid edge out Atletico Madrid on penalties in Spanish Supercopa final

Real Madrid have sealed their 11th Spanish Supercopa title with a penalty shoot out win over Atletico Madrid, after a tense 0-0 final draw in Saudi Arabia. 

Neither side were able to break the deadlock across 120 minutes of action, but spot kick misses from Saul Niguez and Alvaro Morata, allowed Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos to net the decisive penalty for Zinedine Zidane's side.

Zidane's side lift the trophy for the first time since 2017, while avenging their 2018-19 European Super Cup final defeat to Atletico Madrid in Estonia.
