Eden Hazard admits weight gain after Real Madrid move

Eden Hazard has admitted he put on five kilos in weight over summer after joining Real Madrid from Chelsea in a €100m deal.

The Belgian international arrived in the Spanish capital this summer in a big money move but, after suffering multiple injury problems, has yet to hit form for his new side.

Hazard had become a regular starter for Los Blancos in an attacking front three which also includes the in-form Karim Benzema along with one of Rodrygo Goes, Gareth Bale or Vinicius Junior.

La Liga confirm date and time of El Clasico

The date and time of the second El Clasico fixture of the season between Real Madrid and Barcelona has been confirmed.

The fixture will be held at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Sunday 1 March with a 9pm kick-off - the primetime slot of the weekend.

President of La Liga Javier Tebas confirmed the timing of the fixture on Wednesday during the launch of La Liga TV in the UK.

Real Madrid, Ajax reach Donny van de Beek agreement

Real Madrid and Ajax have agreed on the transfer of midfielder Donny van de Beek to take place this summer for €55m.

That is according to a report in reputable Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, as cited by Marca, which claims Los Blancos have had a personal agreement with the player since last summer and now have a verbal agreement with the Dutch champions.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has joined second division side Real Oviedo on loan until the end of the season.

Lunin had not played in La Liga on loan at Real Valladolid as he has not been able to place the club’s number one goalkeeper Jordi Masip, with the news now confirmed that he is now going to the Asturian team.

Barcelona top Deloitte Money League for first time

Barcelona have overtaken El Clasico rivals Real Madrid to top the Deloitte Money League for the first time.

The Catalan giants comfortably topped the table with an annual revenue of €840.8m - an increase of 21.7% - for the 2018-19 season, with Madrid in second place with €757.3m, an increase of 0.9%.

The Blaugrana are the first club to surpass €800m in a year for revenue, which is largely attributed to the club adapting a new operating model.

Real Madrid to loan goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to Real Oviedo

Real Madrid are set to loan goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to Real Oviedo following his return to the club, report Diario AS.

Lunin had not played in La Liga on loan at Real Valladolid as he has not been able to place the club’s number one goalkeeper Jordi Masip.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian - who joined Madrid from Zorya in a €7.5m deal in the summer of 2018 - only started four La Liga games last season at Leganes, where he could not displace Ivan Cuellar.

Achraf Hakimi: Heart divided between Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund loanee Achraf Hakimi has revealed his heart is split between the Bundesliga side and parent club Real Madrid.

It follows a report from Diario Sport that Borussia Dortmund - where the Moroccan is currently on loan - are determined to extend their ownership of the player.

The defender arrived in Germany on a two-year long loan deal in the summer of 2018 and is now entering the final months of that arrangement.

Fede Valverde apologises for Alvaro Morata tackle

Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde has apologised for his foul on Alvaro Morata in Sunday’s Spanish Supercopa final.

With the scoreline deadlocked at 0-0 in the closing stages of extra time, Atletico Madrid striker Morata found himself free on goal and facing a one-on-one with Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Valverde desperately hurtled back towards his own goal and made a cynical, lunging tackle on the Spain international, stopping him in his tracks with the wild challenge.
