Valencia vs Atletico Madrid

Consistently inconsistent Valencia face another fixture that could well be described as must win against Atletico Madrid at Mestalla.

The problem? Opponents Atleti are rather good at winning – having did it the last 13 times they've stepped foot on a pitch.

Demanding Diego Simeone wasn't satisfied with Wednesday's 3-0 Copa del Rey conquest of Real Jaen though.

“Jaen created problems for us at the beginning of each half. It was not as easy as the scoreline indicates.”

Valencia took a point from their first two games but haven't drawn since, their recent form reading win, loss, win, win, loss, win.

“There needs to be a period of adaptation, and that's where the inconsistency is shown,” said Los Che midfielder David Albelda. “Mauricio Pellegrino is going a great job. For these kind of games it doesn't matter what position you are in, because there is extra motivation.”

The hosts will be particularly fired up by the memory of their loss to Atleti in the semi-finals of last year's Europa League.

Kick off: Saturday November 3, 9.00 (BST)
