Levante are rubbing their eyes in disbelief as they travel to La Romareda to take on Real Zaragoza at Sunday lunchtime.
The Granotes have proved last season was no fluke by climbing all the way up to sixth, just one point behind Real Betis and Malaga both.
“More joy it is impossible to have,” gushed President Quico Catalan. “There is great merit in doing so well in a League with so many strong rivals.”
Zaragoza weren’t quite so ecstatic after their 2-0 win at Rayo Vallecano on Monday but it was a significant result for their morale and League standing.
“It was not the most brilliant game of the season,” confessed boss Manolo Jimenez. “But one of the most positive in terms of commitment and clear ideas.”
Kick off: Sunday December 16, 11.00 (BST)
