Real Valladolid vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid are finally beginning to show a little bit of swagger as they travel to take on surprise package Real Valladolid.

The Merengues shot down local rivals Atletico Madrid last Saturday then schooled Ajax in midweek.

Jose Mourinho’s side are still five and 11 points behind Atleti and Barcelona respectively but can pressurise that duo – who play on Sunday – with a win in this Saturday night fixture.

“Now we want to focus on the League and cut the lead of those ahead,” said goalkeeper Iker Casillas. “It will be a difficult game, Valladolid are playing very good football.”

Indeed they are, the newly promoted Pucela having climbed up to seventh after Monday’s impressive win at Sevilla.

Having watched Sevilla, Getafe and Betis get the better of Madrid this season, Miroslav Djukic will see no reason why his side can’t do the same.

“We will try to play our game, but we know that if Madrid win the ball back, we must sacrifice everything,” stated the Serb.

Kick off: Saturday December 8, 7.00 (BST)
