Rayo Vallecano vs Mallorca

Real Mallorca must avoid defeat at Rayo Vallecano to salvage what had looked like a promising season.

It’s an indication of just how well the islanders started the campaign that even after six straight defeats they are still two points clear of the drop zone, sitting 15th after finally breaking that losing streak with a 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo last weekend.

“We must be satisfied that we changed the run of results,” stated midfielder Thomas Pina. “Let’s see if we can take something out of Vallecas, what we all want is a win, but seeing how the game goes, a point may not be bad.”

Rayo lost 4-0 to Real Sociedad on Monday and are a highly unpredictable outfit under Paco Jemez, but they can call upon a strong home record, Real Madrid and Barcelona the only teams to have defeated them in Vallecas this term.

Kick off: Saturday November 24, 3.00 (BST)
